Community Jobs and
Community Works programs
Community Jobs Program is a WORKFIRST program. It provides temporary community-based work and skill building experience to individuals who are on a TANF grant(Temporary assistance to needy families). Participants who have experienced barriers in entering the regular job market are given the opportunity to work while continuing on assistance. Their TANF checks are converted to a wage and they are paid for the work that they do. The goal of this program is to lead to permanent jobs, and eliminate the need for assistance.

The Job Access Return Commute (JARC)
The Job Access Return Commute (JARC) project allows the development of a small dial-a-ride system to move low-income TANF people or special needs people of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties to work related sites, either by connecting the rider with current available transit routes or by direct transport to the rider's destination. The work-related sites include but are not limited to, job sites, day care centers, job training or job interviews. It will also allow clients access to the destinations during the off hours of Pacific Transit or Grays Harbor Transit.
