home repair Weatherization and Repairs

This program strives to preserve and improve homes by making them healthier, safer and more energy affordable. The program specifically focuses on assisting low-income people, giving priority to the elderly, individuals with disabilities and families with children. Inspections and tune-ups of heating systems are done, safety inspections of all gas, oil and wood appliances, and electrical, pest and plumbing inspections as needed. Insulation is installed, general air sealing measures done and minor repairs that are necessary in order to insulate the home.

transitional housing Transitional housing

The THOR(Transitional Housing Operating Rent) and TBRA(Tenant Based Rent Assistance) Programs are self-sufficiency transitional housing programs that assists homeless families with children or a pregnant woman in her third trimester. Families pay a percentage of their rent and CCAP pays the remainder while families set life goals and are working towards self-sufficiency.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

This program provides financial assistance to help income-eligible housholds make home heating more affordable, avoid shut-off of utilities services during the winter, and maintain a warm and safe environment.

Winter heating assistance begins January 2010. In the meantime, please contact us if your power is shut-off or you are in danger of being shut-off.

Home Repair and Rehab Program

The Home Repair and Rehab Program is a Federal Grant Program to repair and increase the insulation level of an eligible owner-occupied primary residence. The repairs must make it possible for additional insulation.

Rental Assistance

We provide rental assistance to qualifying households with FEMA funds. The program can assist with a one month rent. ARRA funding is also currently available to help eligible homeless families with the initial cost of obtaining housing.

Project HELP

Project HELP is a private fuel fund program through the Grays Harbor PUD that provides assistance to income-eligible households in danger of being shut off or are shut off. The maximum amount a household can receive is $150 - one time a year. The program can also assist with a deposit to have power turned on. Assistance is based on a case-by-case basis
