Temporary Shelter Assistance
Homeless families and victims of domestic violence or assault receive prioritization for the Emergency Temporary Shelter Program. Shelter guests may stay 30 days, and receive extensions up to 90 days. During their stay, shelter program participants work with a Housing Resource Specialist who will assist in developing a household action plan based on participants’ individual experiences. In addition to ensuring direct basic needs such as food, medical attention and clothing, other services may include case management, assistance with school enrollment, referral for any needed treatment or counseling, help in finding employment and rental assistance.
Emergency temporary shelter assistance, placement, and case management for homeless individuals and families help them in achieving self sufficiency by providing homeless services and motel vouchers for individuals and families.
